Year 4

November 18, 2022

What have we been up to this week?

This week, Year 4 have been investigating what the Romans ate. To find this out, the children became real archaeologists and dissected some Roman poo! In the ‘faeces’, (which was of course just brown playdough) the children found evidence of different seeds which taught them that the Romans had a very healthy diet consisting of fruit and vegetables, and meat they caught themselves.

Using their knowledge, the children then designed their own Roman menu for either a rich Roman or a poor Roman. They then baked their own delicious Roman biscuits to sample what their diet would have been like.
