In Year 1 children begin exploring emotions through music by listening to different pieces and identifying how the sounds make them feel. They are learning to recognise musical elements such as tempo, pitch, and dynamics, and how these contribute to the mood of a song, whether it’s happy, sad, excited, or calm.
