What have we been up to this week?
The Owlets, Froglets & Snakelets have revisited rainbows and colour mixing this week. The children have been super excited to show us what they know about the colour spectrum and how to mix colours. We’ve had some brilliant blues, great greens, radical reds, perfect purples, and incredible indigos, amongst others! As you can imagine, it gets very messy. However, behind the mess, the skills the children pick up are incredibly useful. It covers fine motor skills in paint brush gripping. Hand-eye coordination improves as the children mix colours. It’s a brilliant creative exercise in which children can express themselves creating colours. Colour recognition itself is important too. There are also pre-maths skills. Colour mixing is a wonderful topic for the children and its great fun for them. The mess is worth it!
