What have we been up to this week?
This week in the EYFS we have hosted a ‘Stay and Learn’ event with a maths focus. We were delighted to see so many parents attend and engage in a range of activities with their children. During the event the children had the chance to create their own vegetable wraps, drawing on their counting skills and following instructions to assemble their wraps. Other activities included classic board games such as ‘Snakes and Ladder’s to support children’s skills of counting and subitising, key staples of early year’s maths mastery. Many of the children were able to show off their mathematical knowledge and skills to their grown-ups which no doubt boosted confidence and spirits within the unit.
